Lagoons

There are a total of 235 identified lagoons in Cajas National Park. These lagoons can either be found isolated or connected by the channel of streams located in the valleys or "cajas," boxes.

This area is the source of several rivers that are tributaries to the Pacific and Amazon. The Yanuncay and Tomebamba rivers originate in Cajas and flow through Cuenca.
